Job Description: Procurement Specialist

The Procurement Specialist at MDLBEAST is a pivotal role responsible for managing end-to-end procurement processes to meet the organization's business needs. This dynamic position requires a detail-oriented professional with strong commercial acumen and a dedication to compliance.

  • Manage the full procure-to-pay (P2P) cycle, ensuring accuracy and timeliness from Purchase Requisition to PO issuance or bill creation.

  • Identify and onboard new suppliers while nurturing relationships with existing vendors through market research and qualification practices.

  • Lead RFX processes (RFI, RFQ, RFP) by drafting documents, coordinating submissions, and facilitating evaluation committees.

  • Analyze commercial proposals, prepare comparative assessments, and provide recommendations for vendor selection.

  • Ensure adherence to procurement policies by challenging non-compliant requests and collaborating with stakeholders to address breaches.

  • Engage in commercial negotiations, clarify terms, and monitor vendor performance throughout contract lifecycles.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to align procurement activities with business objectives and budgetary constraints.

  • Maintain accurate procurement records in the ERP system and support category management initiatives.

  • Generate procurement reports and conduct spend analysis to drive informed decision-making and cost efficiencies.

  • Evaluate vendor proposals based on compliance, value, and quality considerations to recommend approvals or rejections.

  • Adapt seamlessly to changing priorities in a fast-paced, event-centric environment with multiple procurement activities.

Job requirements

Education & Training

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field.

  • Professional fluency in Arabic and English required (written and spoken).

  • Procurement or Supply Chain certification (e.g., CIPP, CCMP, CIPS, CSCP, CPSM) is a plus.

Knowledge & Years of Experience

  • 2–3 years of hands-on procurement experience, preferably in a fast-paced or event-driven environment

Skills & Abilities

  • Solid understanding of procurement fundamentals: sourcing strategies, tendering methods (open, restricted, sole source, framework), and contract types.

  • Proven experience running end-to-end RFX processes starting from scope drafting to bid evaluation and award recommendation.

  • Demonstrated P2P cycle experience from PR creation to PO issuance and invoice/bill processing.

  • Direct experience engaging with vendors and managing supplier relationships.

  • Category knowledge or prior specialization in a specific procurement category (e.g., production, logistics, IT, facilities, or events) is preferred.

  • Working knowledge of at least one ERP system (e.g., SAP, Odoo, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel (data analysis, comparisons), Word (documentation), and PowerPoint (reporting and presentations).

  • Strong procurement best practices awareness and ethical judgement and being able to uphold procurement governance firmly and diplomatically.

  • Excellent negotiation and commercial acumen and being confident in challenging proposals and driving value.

  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail by being capable of reviewing complex proposals, contracts, and spend data.

  • Effective communicator and presenter that can engage confidently with vendors, end-users, and senior stakeholders.

  • Team player with the ability to work independently comfortable both collaborating across functions and owning tasks autonomously.

  • Able to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities within tight deadlines.

  • Fast learner with a proactive, 'can-do' attitude and high-achiever spirit.

  • Strong time management and organizational skills.

  • Must be approachable, professional, and solution-oriented in stakeholder interactions.
